The Shows
Canon Puncture show 108: Game Advocates - Unknown Armies
- Ryan Macklin discusses Unknown Armies by Atlas Games
- Unknown Armies is a transcendental modern horror game
- It’s creepy and gritty, very evocative text and world setting
- Probably need to have lines and veils with this book
Designer vs Reality Episodes 18,19,20: Shadows Playtest 1A, 1B, 1C
- The group plays a new game - the working title is Shadows and the game is a creation of Nolan, who was a player in Dan Maruschak’s Final Hour of a Storied Age
- Shadows is a low magic medieval fantasy game, with more of a storybook than “grim and gritty” tone. There is some inspiration from Frankenstein (the mad scientists) and the anime series Full Metal Alchemist
- In this episode, Dan edits in some bits where he reads out information that wouldn’t be normally accessible for people listening to an AP podcast, it really helps listeners keep on track, a great idea
