Narrative Control 60: The LOST Episode
  • Information being lost between the GM and the Players
  • Detailing a scene for 10 minutes - information can get lost (too much, people not listening to everything, forgetting to state something)
  • Trusting in each other to give the information needed to progress the story
  • Communication is key between the GM and player - expectations, where the story is going, not keeping secrets to mess over the players later
  • Games need limitations to create amazing characters
  • Don’t horde the cool! Everyone should do cool things

    • Creating a character reputation
    • Character journal - can leave it behind within the story to create problems
    • Finding an NPC journal with information in it
  • Props
    • props don’t tie into the mechanics of the game
    • Sending out emails (for modern age game) Snail mail or scrolls!
    • Creating immersion
    • Bugging people with props takes away from the game (maybe you shouldn’t have props)

  • Actual colors - gaming is very oratory (speaking and exercising our brains)
  • Visual cue for the characters
  • Color inspires mood and emotions
  • What emotion is your character doing at that moment? Use the color in your description to enhance the game
